These are called Tassies in the South, and come from my neighbor, Nosy Nina Steiner, whose house is a museum to her Southern ancestors. Great for ladies lunch or teas.
Dough:
- 3 oz. cream cheese
- 1 sticks of margarine or butter
- 1 C. flour
Filling:
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 ½ C. Brown sugar
- 1 ¼ C. chopped pecans
Mix dough by hand, as for pie crust. Shape bough into 24 balls, then press the balls into mini- muffin tins, making a hole for the filling. Heat the filling until warm, and then fill dough cups ¾ full. Bake at 325 for 20 minutes. Great made ahead, freezes well. Makes 24.
